For one of our production facilities in East Flanders where custom electrical cabinets are produced, we are looking for a chief technician. The chief technician is responsible for the day-to-day management of the injection molding plant. The chief technician is responsible for the proper operation of the machinery and manages 3 technicians.
Job description
- You will report to the plant manager
- You manage a team of 3 (possibly later on 4) injection molding technicians;
- You are responsible for the proper operation of the machinery:
- Setting up the injection molding machines, robots, molds and other equipment (automations, transport of raw materials, compressors, cooling groups, grinding mills, silos, storage, laboratory,…)
- Preventive and curative maintenance of all machines, molds and equipment
- Maintain contact with machine, mold and equipment suppliers and maintenance technicians.
- Start-up of new machines and equipment.
- You ensure review and acceptance of work delivered;
- You carry out quality tests
- You make proposals of investments and production improvements
- You participate in the development of new products
- You write and maintain the production and safety procedures
- You maintain the logs of the machines and equipment
Profile
- You have a bachelor’s degree with a technical orientation
- You must have a diversified knowledge in electricity, electronics, mechanics, pneumatics and hydraulics to allow you to make the correct diagnosis in case of failure and fix the problem.
- You have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in an injection molding company
- Experience with plastics, plastic machines and knowledge of molds is necessary
- You must have a great sense of responsibility
- You must be flexible in your hourly schedules
- You are hands-on, can work independently, are a team player and results-oriented

Voor een van onze productiefaciliteiten in Oost-Vlaanderen waar elektriciteitskasten op maat geproduceerd worden, zijn we op zoek naar een hoofdtechnieker. De hoofdtechnieker staat in voor de dagdagelijkse aansturing van de spuitgieterij. De hoofdtechnieker is verantwoordelijk voor de goede werking van het machinepark en stuurt 3 techniekers aan.
Functiebeschrijving
- Je rapporteert aan de plant manager
- Je geeft leiding aan een team van 3 (eventueel later 4) spuitgiettechniekers;
- Je staat in voor de goede werking van het machinepark:
- Instellen van de spuitgietmachines, robotten, matrijzen en andere apparatuur (automatisaties, vervoer grondstoffen, compressoren, koelgroepen, maalmolens, silo’s, stockage, laboratorium,…)
- Preventief en curatief onderhoud van alle machines, matrijzen en apparatuur
- Contact houden met de leveranciers van machines, matrijzen en apparatuur en onderhoudstechnici.
- Starten van nieuwe machines en uitrustingen
- Je zorgt voor beoordeling en acceptatie van geleverd werk;
- Je voert kwaliteitstesten uit
- Je doet voorstellen van investeringen en productieverbeteringen
- Je neemt deel aan de ontwikkeling van nieuwe producten
- Jij schrift en onderhoudt de productie- en veiligheidsprocedures
- Jij onderhoudt de logboeken van de machines en uitrustingen
Profiel
- Je hebt een bachelor diploma met een technische oriëntatie
- Jij moet een gediversifieerde kennis hebben in elektriciteit, elektronica, mechanica, pneumatica en hydraulica om jou toe te laten de juiste diagnose te stellen in geval van storing en het probleem te verhelpen.
- Je hebt minimum 5 jaar relevante ervaring in een spuitgietbedrijf
- Ervaring met kunststoffen, kunststofmachines en kennis van matrijzen is noodzakelijk
- Jij moet een groot verantwoordelijkheidsgevoel hebben
- Jij moet flexibel zijn in uw uurroosters
- Je bent hands-on, kunt zelfstandig werken, bent een teamspeler en resultaatgericht
